The Maison des Sciences Humaines (MSH) at Clermont-Ferrand is a support structure for the humanities and social sciences departments (HSS) of the Université Clermont Auvergne (UCA), and it also carries out innovative research. Its aim is to provide an environment in which projects can be conceived and launched, notably interdisciplinary ones. Its administrative and technical expertise and services are available to the HSS community, as well as the University Press (Presses universitaires Blaise-Pascal). Research at the MSH is based around three main themes, ‘Territories, Transmissions, Transitions’, ‘Revolutions, Reforms, Ruptures’, and ‘Work, Employment and Society’, with an additional interdisciplinary theme on methodology. The MSH has an outreach programme, organizing conferences and seminars, and producing podcasts and films of a documentary style.
