Depuis le tournant du 21ème siècle, les pays du Maghreb, du Proche et du Moyen-Orient ont connu de nombreuses transformations économiques, politiques, sociales et culturelles, et ont été traversés par des événements politiques d’ampleur ayant marqué l’actualité internationale. C’est en partant de ces constats que nous avons entrepris, en 2018, la mise en place d’un cycle de recherches (Université Paris Nanterre, Université Clermont Auvergne, Inalco) consacré aux « Révoltes, révolutions et performance au Proche et Moyen-Orient au 21ème siècle ». Ce travail a donné lieu à trois journées d’études internationales rassemblant des universitaires et des artistes des pays concernés par notre étude, afin de favoriser un échange de points de vue et de garantir un aller-retour permanent entre la théorie et les témoignages d’expériences pratiques. Dans cette même perspective, nous avons tenu à organiser ces journées dans des lieux diversifiés : la première a eu lieu à l’Institut des Langues et Cultures Orientales en novembre 2018, la seconde à l’Institut National d’Histoire de l’Art en mai 2019, et la troisième au Théâtre de l’Odéon en Novembre 2019. À l’issue de ce travail préliminaire, nous souhaitons réaliser un projet de recherche-création portant en particulier sur la tragédie grecque et ses adaptations, mises en scène et utilisations dans le contexte politique du Moyen Orient. Ce projet est pensé comme un laboratoire de synthèse de nos recherches collectives afin de préparer un projet de recherche ANR ou ERC avec une dimension recherche-action.

Abstract :
Since the turn of the 21st century, the countries of the Maghreb, Near and Middle East have undergone numerous economic, political, social and cultural transformations and have been traversed by major political events that have marked international news. It is on the basis of these observations that we have undertaken, in 2018, the setting up of a research cycle (Paris Nanterre University, Clermont Auvergne University, Inalco) devoted to "Revolts, revolutions and performance in the Near and Middle East in the 21st century". This work gave rise to three international study days bringing together academics and artists from the countries concerned by our study, in order to encourage an exchange of points of view and to guarantee a permanent back and forth between theory and testimonies of practical experience. In the same perspective, we have made a point of organizing these days in a variety of locations: the first took place at the Institute of Oriental Languages and Cultures in November 2018, the second at the National Institute of Art History in May 2019, and the third at the Odeon Theatre in November 2019. At the end of this preliminary work, we would like to carry out a research-creation project examining in particular the Greek tragedy, its adaptations, uses andimplementation in the political context of the Middle East. This project is conceived as a laboratory for the synthesis of our collective research in order to prepare an ANR or ERC research project with a research- action dimension.

Lauréat de son appel à projets interdisciplinaires 2020, ce programme est soutenu financièrement par la MSH pour deux ans (2021-2022).
